Diocesan Kolo Srpskih Sestara Celebrates Slava

The Feast of the Entry into the Temple of the Most Holy Theotokos was celebrated with great joy on Sunday, December 8, 2019 by the Diocesan Kolo Srpskih Sestara (Circle of Serbian Sisters) at the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in San Gabriel, California.

The Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Grace Bishop Maxim, together with his father, V. Rev. Lazar Vasiljevic; V. Rev. Predrag Bojovic, the parish priest at St. Sava Church; Deacon Vladan Radovanovic, our Diocesan Secretary and Deacon; and many faithful from the parish and neighboring parishes.

The celebration was a reminder of the great ministry of the Diocesan Circle of Serbian Sisters which was established on December 6, 1986.  Our Sisters, past and present, have volunteered their time, efforts, and talents to spread our Orthodox faith; care for the sick, suffering, and poor; assist in the nurturing of our children by contributing to our St. Sava Camp;  and assist with organizing receptions and luncheons for important special events and social commitments as requested by our Diocesan Bishop.

The honorary Slava Kuma was Mrs. Marica Blagojevic, who as President of the St. Sava Kolo Srpskih Sestara, and through her hard work and leadership, has exemplified the purpose and ministry of the Circle of Serbian Sisters, both on the parish and diocesan level.

May God bless our sisters and may they always be inspired in their ministry by their protectress and the main intercessor of the human race before God, The Most Holy Theotokos! Many years!
