Church Patronal Feast Day – Slava in San Diego
His Grace Bishop Maxim of the Western American diocese served Hierarchical Divine Liturgy in the church of St. George the Great-Martyr, San Diego, on the occasion of the church Slava on the fourth Sunday of Pascha, May 7.
Concelebrants at the Liturgy were protopresbyter-stavrophor Bratislav Kršić, protopresbyter-stavrophor Milovan Katanić from Saint Petka parish, San Marcos and protodeacon Paul Germain, deacon David Williams and with many faithful people.
After the Matins, the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was served. During his homily, Bishop Maxim wished blessed days of the Holy Resurrection of Christ, reminding his listeners that the healed man from the Gospel pericope found out who healed him only in the temple where he came to thank the Lord for the miracle done for him. This fact tells us to be grateful and that it is in the Church that our knowledge culminates, i.e. union with Christ, and our healing, and we come to the temple to thank the Lord for His blessings and there we receive the same.
During the Liturgy, Bishop Maxim, the clergy and the faithful prayed wholeheartedly to the Lord for the salvation of the people, that the Lord visits the temple with His grace, for the repose of the souls of those who fell asleep in the Lord, forefathers, fathers and brother priests, founders and donors and founders of the temple, newly martyred children and people in Serbia, and all fallen asleep, Orthodox Christians.
A celebratory lunch and agape meal followed the Liturgy. Teacher Milanka Lehman together with the children sang the song of hope and resurrection together with the children from Sunday school class. The hardworking sisters of the parish, with Snežana Pantović, once again proved their love as myrrhbearers through their hard and dedicated work. Congratulations to our Slava kumovi, reader Aleksandar and Professor Jelena with their son Andreja Bradić. The Kumovi next year will be Vladimir and Ivana Kezić with their children. At the end of the Slava banquet, hieromonk Vasilije Gavrilović joined the celebration. Many years to everyone and may God’s blessing through the prayers of the holy great-martyr George be with us all.
Храмовна Слава у сандијешкој парохији
Његово Преосвештенство Епископ западноамерички Господин Максим началствовао евхаристијским сабрањем у храму Светог Великомученика Георгија поводом храмовне славе у четврту недељу Пасхе Господње, 7. маја.
Епископу су саслуживали парохијски свештеник протојереј-ставрофор Братислав Кршић, протојереј-ставрофор Милован Катанић из парохије Свете Петке, Сан Маркос и протођакон Павле Џермејн, и ђакон Давид Вилијемс са мноштво верног народа.
У наставку јутарње службе служена је Света архијерејска Литургија. Беседећи верном народу Епископ Максим је пожелео благословене дане Светлог Васкрсења Христовог подсетивши да је исцељени човек из јеванђељског одељка сазнао ко га је исцелио тек у храму где је дошао да заблагодари Господу за то учињено за њега чудо. Та чињеница нас упућује да и ми будемо благодарни и да управо у Цркви бива кулминација нашег сазнања,
тј. јединства са Христом, и наше исцељење, а ми долазећи у храм благодаримо Господу за Његова добра и благослов.
За време литије Епископ Максим, свештенство и верни народ свесрдно су се молили Господу за спасење народа, да посети храм милошћу својом, за упокојење душа уснулих у Господу, праотаца, отаца и браће свештеника, ктитора и приложника и оснивача храма, новонастрадалне дечице и људи у Србији, и свих уснулих православних хришћана.
Славски ручак и трпеза хришћанске љубави уследила је по завршетку архијерејске Литургије. Учитељица Миланка Лехман је заједно са децом појала песму наде и васкрсења заједно са децом часа веронауке. Вредне сестре парохије са Снежаном Пантовић су још једном својим радом посведочиле своју љубав мироносица. Честитамо кумовима чтецу Александру и професору Александру са сином Андрејом Брадић. Кумови идуће године биће Владимир Кезић. На крају банкета гостима се придружио и јеромонах Василије Гавриловић. Многаја љета свима и благослов Божји молитвама светог великомученика Георгија да буде са свима нама.
