Bishop Maxim visits Fair Oaks, California February 3-4, 2024
The Sacramento area community was blessed to welcome its spiritual leader, His Grace Bishop Maxim, who arrived on Saturday. Vespers was officiated by parish priest Proto Dane Popović and Proto Deacon Dragan Stojanovich from Jackson, CA. Afterward, we enjoyed a potluck dinner and wonderful fellowship. His Grace gifted those in attendance with a beautiful book entitled, “No Faith Is More Beautiful Than the Christian Faith,” written by Bishop Danilo Krstić and Hieromonk Amfilohije Radović.
Sunday began with welcoming His Grace inside the church as it was raining quite hard at the beginning of the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy. Our church was filled with faithful stewards and children. Fr. Dane offered words of gratefulness to His Grace for visiting Fair Oaks, as well as presenting a Gramata to Savo Petrović, a very deserving steward for his dedication to our church and doing anything and everything asked. Živeli, Savo! We then proceeded to the church hall for a delicious Mexican lunch prepared by steward Betsy Tica, wife of long-time Tutor Milan. His Grace spent the afternoon filled with friendly conversations with faithful parishioners. His Grace gifted all the children with a beautiful brojanice.
