The Last Sunday of 2024

Often a ‘gift’ is received and we don’t even realize we were given a gift until it was presented to us. Such a ‘gift’ was a visit from our own Beloved Bishop, Vladika Maxim who came to us and prayed Divine Liturgy with us on this last Sunday of 2024.

Bishop Maxim entered our Church with Blessings and smiled Greetings for all. He walked to the front of our beautiful Church and proceeded to enter the Sanctuary and Bless our Holy Space. With a quick turn, he exited and began the Vesting Process in our midst. For many of our newer members, this was a new experience. Not only were they witnessing the presence of our Bishop, they were also witnessing the formal reception of a Bishop.

The Divine Liturgy progressed swiftly and reverently. Many people received Holy Communion from Vladika or from Fr. Vladan who had accompanied His Grace to our Church. At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, our own Fr. Dane thanked His Grace for his impromptu visit and also informed us that ‘some day’ Fr. Vladan Radovanovic would become our next Priest. Fr. Dane then invited all to proceed to our Serbian Hall to share in a lovely meal that had been prepared by the dedicated women of our KSS.

Our President Aco Petrovich spoke briefly and welcomed all to the prepared luncheon. There was much shared laughter and visiting during the next two hours as we all shared in the meal. It was a wonderful afternoon. What an impressive way to end the year.
