On Cheesefare Sunday, March 2, 2025, the parish community in Las Vegas joyfully celebrated its feast day and honored its heavenly patron, Saint Simeon the Myrrh-Streaming.
The festive celebration began with the evening service on Saturday, officiated by Hieromonk Fr. Vasilije, preparing the faithful for the liturgical joy that was to follow.
On Sunday, the solemn Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Grace Bishop Maxim of Western America, with the concelebration of clergy and in the presence of a great number of faithful who gathered in the church to glorify the Lord and His holy servant, our father among the saints, Simeon, “with one mouth and one heart.”
Following the reading of the Holy Gospel, Bishop Maxim delivered an edifying pastoral homily, emphasizing the significance of forgiveness as a prerequisite for spiritual purification and a worthy preparation for the upcoming Great Lent.
After the Divine Liturgy, the traditional breaking of the Slava bread (Slavski Kolač) took place, symbolizing unity in Christ. This was followed by a festive Slava banquet, lovingly prepared by this year’s Slava hosts.
The joyful gathering continued with a cultural and artistic program, featuring children from the parish school who delighted the audience with their recitations and songs, as well as members of the folklore ensemble, who enriched the celebration with traditional dances, preserving the beauty of our spiritual and cultural heritage.
His Grace Bishop Maxim, together with members of the church board, visited the construction site of the new church dedicated to Saint Simeon. The faithful of this parish eagerly and prayerfully anticipate its completion with firm faith and hope in God’s providence.
The celebration continued throughout the day in an atmosphere of brotherly love, fellowship, joy, and song, leaving an indelible mark of spiritual grace and unity in the hearts of all present.

Слава Цркве и парохије у Лас Вегасу
У недељу Сиропусну, 2. марта 2025. године, парохијска заједница у Лас Вегасу прославила је своју славу и њеног заштитника, светог Симеона Мироточивог.
Празничном слављу претходило је вечерње богослужење у суботу, које је у служио јеромонах о. Василије.
У недељу је светом архијерејском литургијом началствовао епископ западноамерички г. Максим, уз саслужење свештенства и присуство великог броја верника, који су се сабрали у храму да „једним устима и једним срцем“ прославе Господа и Његовог угодника, светог оца нашег Симеона.
Након прочитаног Јеванђеља, верном народу пастирском беседом обратио се епископ г. Максим, говорећи о смислу опраштања као предуслову за предстојећи Велики пост.
По завршетку свете Литургије уследило је ломљење славског колача, а затим и свечани славски ручак, који су припремили овогодишњи кумови славе.
Током ручка одржан је пригодан програм у коме су учествовала деца из црквене школе, као и чланови фолклорног друштва.
Епископ Максим је, заједно са члановима црквене управе, обишао радове на новом храму посвећеном светом Симеону, чији завршетак парохијани ове заједнице са вером и надом жељно очекују.
Празнично славље настављено је током дана у братској љубави, дружењу, радости и песми.
