Bishop Maxim’s Visit to Saratoga

Bishop Maxim’s Visit to Saratoga

This past Sunday was a day of great joy and blessing for our parish, as we welcomed our beloved Bishop Maxim for an archpastoral visit. The church was filled with many faithful parishioners who gathered to participate in the beautiful Divine Hierarchical Liturgy, celebrated by His Grace Bishop Maxim together with our parish priest, Father Vido.
In his sermon, the Bishop offered words of spiritual encouragement and pastoral care, uplifting all present. His Grace pointed out how the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves is important for us in the sense that food is essential for survival. Survival of the body is a physical necessity, but God also feeds and nourishes us with the spiritual food, which is important for eternal life in the Kingdom of God, which is to come. Therefore, our gratitude is always towards God, who brought us into existence and keeps us alive.
At the conclusion of the service, Father Vido wished farewell to our devoted altar server Milan Grbović, who has faithfully served for many years and will soon begin his studies at the prestigious Ivy League – Cornell University. After Milan received special blessings from His Grace, the whole parish wished him all the best for his future.
Following the Liturgy, the celebration continued with a delicious lunch in the parish hall, graciously sponsored by the Dubočanin Family. It was a truly joyful occasion for the entire community!
