On Saturday, August 22, 2020, faithful pilgrims from Southern California, led by Bishop Maxim, with the con-celebration of priests Bratislav Krsic and Milovan Katanic, as well as Deacon Vladan Radovanovic, gathered at the Meeting of the Lord Monastery in Escondido during the days of the afterfeast of the Lord’s Transfiguration.

Following the Divine Liturgy and Parastos was served in memory of Hieromonk Nektarije, the first monastic of this monastery, as well as others, departed in the Lord. In a brief message, His Grace addressed those gathered on this warm August morning to encounter the glory of the Lord’s Transfiguration through their participation in the might of the feast. With His Transfiguration on Mount Tabor, the Lord showed His Disciples and Apostles that the uncreated light is His constant state, and is given to men according to their participation in the Church.

An agape meal and refreshments were served afterward in accordance to all the rules and regulations during these days of the coronavirus pandemic.

Finally, in singing the Troparion of the Lord’s Transfiguration all bid farewell and went their own way with the hope of once again meeting at this holy monastery.

Преображењски дани у Манастиру Сретења Господњег у Ескондиду, Калифорнија

У суботу, 22. августа, 2020. године, верни поклоници из јужне Калифорније, предвођени Владиком Максимом, уз саслуживање свештеника Братислава Кршића и Милована Катанића, као и ђакона Владан Радовановића, окупили су се у Манастиру Сретења Господњег у Ексондиду у данима попразништва Преображења.
После Свете Литургије и парастоса јеромонаху Нектарију, првог монаху овог Манастира, као и другим уснулим слугама Божијим, Епископ се кратком поучном беседом обратио поклоницима, који су овог топлог августовског јутра дошли у Манастир да се сусретну са славом Преображеног Господа учешћем у сили празника. Господ који се преобразио на Тавору показао је својим ученицима и апостолима да је нестворена Светлост Његово трајно стање, а да се људима даје по мери њиховог учешћа у Цркви.

Уследила је трпеза љубави и послужење, поштујући све мере и прописе услед пандемије корона вируса.

На крају су сви поздравили уз појање тропара Преображења Господњег и разишли у жељи за поновним окупљањем у овој светој обитељи.
