A special farewell to Fr. Vladan and the Radovanovic family
On Sunday, July 27, 2025 the parishioners of Saint Steven’s Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Alhambra, California, gathered in prayer and fellowship to express their gratitude and best wishes at a special farewell luncheon for Rev. Vladan Radovanovic, his wife Popadija Dejana, and their children Maxim and Matija before departing to their new home Fair Oaks, California, where Fr. Vladan will begin his ministry as the parish priest of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.
Fr. Vladan had been working as the Assistant to Bishop Maxim at the Western American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church since 2016 and has been been assisting Fr. Nicholas Ceko, Dean at Saint Steven’s Cathedral, at the Liturgical Services since 2023.
The days festivities began with the Divine Liturgy concelebrated by His Grace Bishop Maxim, V. Rev. Nicholas Ceko, Cathedral Dean, Rev. Hieromonk Vasilije Gavrilovic, Episcopal Assistant, and Rev. Vladan Radovanovic, Episcopal Assistant along with all of the faithful. The beautiful responses were sung by the Cathedral Choir led by Choir Director Rebecca Danks. At the conclusion of the service His Grace Bishop Maxim expressed his gratitude for Fr. Vladan’s years of service at the Diocese and extended his prayerful wishes for many fruitful years in his new parish.
At the luncheon Fr. Nicholas Ceko expressed gratitude for Fr. Vladan’s service and shared some of their experiences over the years. The parish President, Dushan Pavichevich then presented a gift to Fr. Vladan and his family. Fr. Vladan then addressed everyone expressing his gratitude to His Grace Bishop Maxim and to Fr. Nick and thanked everyone for the love and support. As the luncheon concluded parishioners visited with Fr. Vladan and Popadija Dejana extending prayerful wishes as they begin their new life in Fair Oaks, California.
