HISTORY
Formation:
The trust and its amendments evolved over time, with changes made in 2018 and 2019 to include specific terms for asset distribution and management.
Litigation and Dispute:
Following the death of Bogdan Vunovich in January 2022, disputes arose among the involved parties, including family members and trustees, concerning the validity of trust amendments and asset distribution.
Settlement Agreement:
The agreement reached in February 2024 resolves these disputes and stipulates that the trust’s administration and assets will be transferred to the Western American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Purpose and Use:
The Bob i Margita Foundation will be established as a donor-advised endowment fund under the administration of the Diocese. Its primary purpose is to provide **scholarships** for higher education to individuals:
- Active in a Serbian Orthodox parish within the Diocese.
- With preference given to those of Serbian ancestry, particularly in the territorial jurisdiction of the Diocese and states like Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana.
Eligibility criteria include academic standing and alignment with Orthodox Christian values, and scholarships are intended for tuition and books. Recipients are also encouraged to give back to the endowment to sustain its mission.
