Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,

I greet you with joy in the name of our Resurrected Lord and Savior!

I am writing to you, dear brothers and sisters, to thank you for your generous and ongoing love and support for the Western American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

As we remember the joyous and magnificent 50th Anniversary Celebration of last year, and how it so beautifully showcased the rich history of our diocese, its parishes, monasteries, and ministries, we now look to the many exciting and inspirational events of the present and the future.

This year I invite and encourage you to participate in our 18th Annual Diocesan Days Gathering which will be held at the St. Sava Mission in Jackson, California on the weekend of August 29-31, 2014.

The purpose of our Diocesan Days Gathering is to provide our faithful with an opportunity to gather together in one place, as one family, in prayer and fellowship. The festivities this year will include  worship services, seminars, presentations, and discussions with our guest speaker the Most Venerable Archimandrite Methodius, Abbot of the Serbian Imperial Lavra of Hilandar. Social events, as shown on the flyer I have enclosed for you, will include a Serbian picnic, a folklore program and dance, and many more fun and interesting activities for everyone of all ages.

As you can see, we are preparing for a full and very eventful weekend. An event such as this is a great undertaking and it will require the help of numerous volunteers and the financial contributions of many generous and supportive donors. That is why I would like to ask you to consider becoming a Diocesan Days Sponsor. Our levels of sponsorship are Gold ($1,500), Silver ($1,000), or Bronze ($500). Your contribution will help to underwrite the cost of this event, which will allow us to focus on and provide three full days of spiritual and social activities for you, your family and friends, and the many other Serbian Orthodox faithful in our Diocese.

As is customary, each year we also prepare the Annual, which is a beautiful year book containing articles and photos of the historical events and important work of our Diocese. At the back of the book there are Greetings and Ads from our diocesan families and supporters. If you would like to purchase a special Greeting or Ad, or if you would like to become a Diocesan Day Sponsor, please complete the attached Form and return it to our Diocesan office at 1621 West Garvey Avenue, Alhambra, CA 91803. The due date for both Sponsorships and Greetings/Ads is Tuesday, July 15th, 2014.  Please make your check payable to Western American Diocese.

We thank you for your generous support and thoughtful consideration. May the grace, love, and the communion of the Holy Trinity be with you and your loved ones as you continue your good works of stewardship in the Western American Diocese.

With brotherly love and esteem in Christ,
Right Reverend Bishop MAXIM
Bishop of the Western American Diocese
