Holy Glorious Great-Martyr
& Victory-Bearer George
Prayer for the Assembly of Bishops
of the Serbian Orthodox Church
O All Merciful God! Grant our Hierarchs gathered in Assembly to grow in wisdom and strength, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. May their work be guided by the grace of the Holy Spirit, and may the Spirit of unity and love, of compassion and mutual respect, inspire each to contribute toward the building up of the Church for the glory of Thy name, for You have ordered us to do all things for Your glory, For You are a merciful God, and unto You we ascribe glory: to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and forever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

FROM BISHOP MAXIM
“The Lord has risen and filled everything with fragrance.”
What is required is the boldness, the daringness of faith. This happened to the myrrh-bearing women. With an overflowing love for their Teacher, what could they do? They took myrrh to anoint their Teacher Who had died. And so the result was that they experienced the myrrh of the Resurrection—they bore the myrrh which overcomes death. The angel told them, “The Lord is risen; go tell the disciples and Peter.” Coming out of the tomb they said nothing to anyone for they were afraid (cf. Mark 16:6–8). Saying that they said nothing to anyone means that they said everything to everyone. Saying that they were afraid means they did not in any way want to give a false expression of what they had seen or experienced. For he who accepts this experience of the Resurrection does not speak, and yet he is speaking continuously, through his words and his silence.
